May you take this breath
as if it were your last
and so walk open hearted
into all this life you are
already in,
hailing from the vast unknown,
headed for the same,
differentiated by a choice
to present yourself fully
before eternity,
right now, awoken
in the cave where no time
has passed for the faithful
who are here, a silent clock,
forged by a fool
with a great and objectless longing
at last laid to rest
by this sweet breath out,
and all the trust it holds:
none of this is mine
and I accept full responsibility
as a belonging of life, gifted
anew with each breath in.
