Connected Heavens

And suddenly, heaven, this connected
community of being, this shared
vibration, this wave we have been riding
since space began the sort of praise
that clears and expands to receive
and time began its eternal journey, now.

Sweet soul, another storm is about
to break and the doors are open
and the air is warm with this
singular summer's love,
each particle playing its role
in the transmission of scent
now that the Christmas bush has bloomed
and we're slowly making home, here,
in the garden.

Softly, rain has started
while rolling thunder stills the birds
and pungent silence rises from the ground,
yearning for the grace we all can sense
in the rain animal headed here,
like once, so many generations ago,
when inside and outside were not
so different, when we did not have to bridge
mind and matter, self and soul,
but had it, like children,
simply present.

So now, in this more expanded space,
let us stand in awe, aware and attuned
by the attention we can give
to the fluid field which holds
what is
different and the same
far and near,
intimately unknowable.

Let our hearts drink it in
and overflow with love,
this ease with how things are
both this and that
and not like either at all
until we return to the silent
cosmic song
and sing it evermore.
